Ambia Ach-120 Portable Two Zone Ceramic Heater

Cheap Ambia Ach-120 Portable Two Zone Ceramic Heater

Customize your comfort with Ambia's ACH-120, which provides you with two zone control in one beautiful product. The two heater modules can be used combined like a traditional heater, or they can be separated to direct heat toward two separate places. The unique tethered heater modules can be placed up to 6-feet apart--one on the floor and one on a desktop, one on each side of a chair, or each aimed at different people. You can select heat from both modules together and from either the left or ...
  • Heat modules separate by up to 6-feet
  • Plugs into one standard wall outlet
  • Adjustable thermostat
  • Interconnect tether disconnects for easy cord routing
  • Combined heater provides 1500-watts

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nice'n Warm
Granted it's not winter and I've not put this through a whole heating process of using it multiple nights. But I was able to use it a few times when it got cool here and I can say it heats up nice.

First off this is a ceramic type of heater. Not the fan type of infra-red. There are many pros and cons of each type. Naturally it does get a bit warm (some may say hot) in front, so if you have pets or children be careful.

Whats really nice is you can detach the side so to put part on a table or around something. There is a wire, but it's not going to stretch around the room. Or you can keep it all connected and maneuver the heater up. At the time I'm writing this, there are pictures at the top of this page you can click on to see what I am saying.

There are knobs you turn on/off and regular temperature. Not push buttons. Some prefer one over the other. Many find knobs easier.

What I will say is it's best to plug this directly into the...

2. Neater Heater
File this one under, "how come no one thought of this before?"

It's a ceramic heater that allows you to detach the right half from the base unit (containing the controls) and deploy it up to six feet away.

This means that you and a significant other can each enjoy your own separate heater when you're snuggled up on a couch or sitting at the kitchen table. Or you can have heat on your face and feet simultaneously, when you're seated at a desk. Or you can have the two heaters directing their heat at you from the left and right, enveloping you in warmth.

The two halves feature fan-driven ceramic heaters with red lights that come on to show they're working.

You can choose to fire up just the left half, or the right half, or both together. Note, however, that the single thermostat governs both sides. This means that you can't dial up separate settings for each side, though, of course, you can place one half farther away from you if you get...

Note the Safety Problems
Positives:
* The split design.
* The space in the backs of both heaters to tuck away excess cord.
* Powerful.
* Heats large area.
* Relatively quiet.
* Tilt option for one half when both halves are attached.
* The sides unplug from each other for easier storage.

Negatives:
* DOESN'T turn off automatically when knocked over; No safety tip-over switch.
* The controls are only on one unit of this two-unit heater.
* Requires relatively large floor space because of the stand and horizontal design.
* Front gets very hot.
* The automatic temperature control switches heat on or off only, no gradual decrease high med low - slightly annoying to hear it turn on and off and can mislead you to think that it is entirely off.

I was a little overwhelmed at the amount of floor space needed to use this heater. For a small, crowded room, or place with narrow halls or doors, I wouldn't recommend this version. The front get...

Lasko 2530 40-Inch Elite Wind Tower Fan with Remote Control

Cheapest Lasko 2530 40-Inch Elite Wind Tower Fan with Remote Control

The Elite Wind Tower has everything you would ever need in a fan including widespread oscillation, 40" height, three quiet speeds, an electronic timer (up to 7.5 hours), and a remote control with storage area. Don't be caught without your Elite Wind Tower this season.
  • Three Whisper-Quiet Speeds
  • Multi-Function Remote Control
  • Electronic Timer
  • ETL listed. Patented fused safety plug.
  • Simple Assembly

This Tower Fans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Saved from the hot spell
When it came time to turn my neighbor on to this fan I was distressed to read the two reviews that were already published (both from purchasers who obtained theirs from other stores?). Last year I purchased two of these for my apartment in San Diego . . . and then the longest, hottest two weeks that we have seen in years hit. These two were operating 24/7, moved around a lot, etc. and worked flawlessly. They never got put away and I have used them to circulate air during the Winter as well and they are still cooking along flawlessly. That's not one, but two, and they work and last great!

2. Most Quiet Tower Fan
We purchased a Honeywell Tower Fan and this Lasko fan. We use the Lasko in the bedroom. What a difference it is from a box fan. It is very very quiet. The sleep setting is perfect because you can choose how long to have it running after you go to bed. Even if we keep it on all night, I wake up in the morning not feeling like I've listening to a fan roar all night long. We can't use it on ocillate - it makes a sound when it goes back and forth. Even so, it still gives us both (and 2 dogs!) plenty of direct air flow without the ocillation feature. I JUST bought another for my office.

Nice while it lasted...
As with the reviewer above, I purchased this fan from another store and it worked well at first. The remote was a nice touch and the fan speeds and settings worked well. However within 4 months of owning it, when we tried to have it rotate, it turns slightly, gets stuck, and proceeds to just make a clicking sound until you stop it from rotating. Needless to say it no longer rotates, so it is now just a stationary fan. I even tried taking it apart to unjam it, but came to discover that the rotating gear was already worn down and that was the problem, so without new parts it could not be fixed. Buy another fan if you want it to last, I know I am.

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. The best electric space heater I have ever used !
I have tried the quartz and ceramic heaters which often require a small fan to circulate air past the elements to heat the air. I have also been in homes that use natural gas for gravity heat, central air, built in electric ceiling heat, and a natural gas wall heater. Most of the gas or electric element heaters that I mentioned tend to dry out and remove some of the oxygen from the air which can cause that uncomfortable "soar throat and headache" feeling. These DeLonghi oil-filled radiators don't seem to negatively effect the air since they use clean electricity and simply heat up the air through efficient convection and radiation. This model TRD0715T has side metal tubing that creates more of a vacuum effect which seems to make the hot air blow out of the top of the unit without the use of a fan. DeLonghi rightfully nicknames this as a "Dragon model" since has the effect of a forced air heater without the noise or extra electricity requirements. On low 700W, medium 900W, or high...

2. Some actual performance measurements
Just bought this, still deciding whether to keep it. Ran a little experiment, thought it might give folks an idea of what to expect.

Room size: 154SF (11x14)

Finished, unheated basement room, with one insulated external wall, the rest uninsulated interior walls. No windows, door closed.

Outside temp: 15F

Put heater in center of room

Put thermometer on a desk 6 feet away

Started at 10:20AM with a cold heater set on high, measured for 5 hours

10:20AM 49.6F

11:20AM 55.9F

12:20PM 59.9F

01:20PM 62.6F

02:20PM 64.4F

03:20PM 65.8F

So roughly 2 hours to raise the temp 10F, 4 hours to raise the temp 15F

Unfortunately, I suspect that none of the competing electric heaters would do significantly better, since they're all limited to 1500W. Since I'm reluctant to try a fuel-burning heater in an unventilated space, I may stick with this...

Beginning a second winter with ours. Here's the scoop!
Here's a review from the perspective of having used one of these for an entire winter. I bought one of these a year ago so we could set our natural gas heat on a very low temprature at night during the winter and still keep the master bedroom warm. Here are my observations.

1. It performed flawlessly and was so quiet we wouldn't even know it was there.

2. The timer is what sold me on the unit. 24 hours divided into small time intervals which may each be turned on or off give huge flexibility in when this heater runs and doesn't. It's on automatically only when you want it on.

3. The heat comes out the top. The sides stay very "cool" for a heater. I can put may hands on the sides for about a half a second, which means that touching the heater accidently on the sides probably won't cause a burn. It really seems to be built with safety in mind.

4. I would, of course, still follow the directions with regard to how close it is placed...

30 in. Digital Pedestal Heater w/ Remote
  • 30 in. Digital Pedestal Heater w/ Remote

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. AWESOME!
This heater is AMAZING! Its around 40-50 bucks and works great. I reccomend it to anyone! The remote control is awesome, you can pick high or low the machine rotates if you want it too. My first one lasted 2-3 years and it died and I ran and bought another one. Even if it only lasts a year its WORTH it, since I keep it on all day (well not when I am at work) but at work I have one as well. This Heater is the best by far and trust me Ive had my share of heaters. Its also pretty cool looking :)

2. Excellent heater and customer service
This is mainly a review on the manufacturer-Lasko. Over the years I have bought 2 Lasko model 6350 heaters. I paid $50 at Target for them. One heater was bought for my girlfriend 3 years ago. She has used it heavily as a supplement to heat a bath/closet/single room area and it has worked great. We liked it so much I bought another one for my parents for their RV. They visit us in the winter, and we get a lot 10-20 degree nights even here in TN, and it will heat their 37' RV which is poorly insulated. After one season, my parents heater quit working-wouldn't even power on (1.5 years after purchase). So I called Lasko and they asked for the batch number on the back of the heater. FYI- they picked up on the first ring, no automation, and spoke English. Apparently some of these units (6350) have a bad power control panel. They had me cut the cord, mail it to them w a copy of my receipt, and a brief description of the problem. Five days later I received a new unit, put it together, and it...

Affordable, heats quickly. Nice overheat protection
This is a pretty good heater with bang for your buck. It does not tip over easily (like some people say) unless you deliberately push it over. I love the remote, I can sit at my comp and control the heater from several feet away. Only con is that it won't warm up your feet-since it is on a pedestal meant to give comfortable seat-height warmth.
Timer is great. Temp control is nice, only every time you adjust, you have to adjust hi/lo again. Its a good buy, trust me. I'm going through 45 degree bay weather and this helps.

  • Ultra-quiet operation, cool touch housing, built-in carrying handle
  • Internal heat limiting thermal cut-off function, tip-over safety switch
  • Measures 13.3 by 9.6 by 9.5 inches and weighs 3.4 pounds

This Heaters & Accessories give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Cute desk heater
At the low prices at the time, I bought 4 of them.

Unlike a lot of radiant heaters that use a fragile glass, quartz halogen heating element, which are so bright it's like sitting in front of a bright yellow floodlight, or get dangerously hot, these use a durable nichrome & ceramic element that emits a very dim (but warm) red glow.

This is the smallest, lowest powered parabolic heater I ever found. Low power has some advantages in some situations, saves money, & reduces pollution.

There is no fan, so it's totally silent. Because it's only 300 watts, it does not get dangerously hot if nearby. But as with all heaters, you should use some common sense, like don't cover the heater or hang stuff over it, point it at curtains, or place it right next to bedding. I have one on a table about 3' away from the bed, yet I can feel the heat in bed on my face, about 7' away.

It has a standard, tip over, cut-off switch for safety.

This little...

2. Extremely unreliable
I just inventoried the 5 Optimus H-4110 dish heaters I've purchased from Amazon over the past 24 months.

1 died within Amazon's 30 day return period, and was replaced by Amazon. The replacement still works.
1 died 3 days after the end of the return period. It's being returned anyway at my expense for a partial refund.
3 died at varying times from 3 months to a year and were deemed too expensive to return to Optimus under warranty. Failures were
determined to be in the ceramic heating coils, making them unrepairable.

Bottom line: these are fine little heaters while they work, but that simply won't be very long at all.

1. Powerful lasko stand heater
Stand fan heater much more powerful then compact fan heater. hot hot hot.. Has to be positioned a distant away from people. Thermostat can be set to desired temp and shuts off after a few minutes reaching the setting.

Cons:
Took a while to figure out how to assemble the base/pedestal part. But once that's done evrything's fine.

I find that in general Lasko products are reliable.

2. Heater
I did not like this product. I was very excited when I received. Good price, good size, but I turned on and it stoped by itself. I tried several times. Finally, I gave up and returned it and got my money back.

1. Best Space Heater
[[ASIN:B000R88XTA Air King 8566 Oscillating Ceramic Heater with Programmable Thermostat, 8-hour Timer and Remote ControI. I have a 10 plus year old space heater, the old element type, that I have been wary of falling asleep with it on. So, the search began, I read almost all reviews of the types I was most interested in, ceramic and radiant type of space heaters. No one heater, or for that matter, no one product will satisfy all. But, the Air King 8566, provided all the options, if you will for heating comfort and ease of use. Many other heaters were found to be inaccurate in there temperature settings, not this one. The remote works just like the panel on the heater, no confusion there and even on the high auto mode, the fan noise is not distracting. No reviews that I read on this heater alarmed me as so many others did. This model is the top of the Air King line of what amazon sells and is not inexpensive, but the old adage, you get what you pay for certainly applies here.

2. Efficient Space Heater
If this heater wasn't a bit noisy, I would give it 5 stars. It heated up my room within a few minutes, even with the door ajar. Both the main unit and the remote are easy to use; there is even a hook on the back of the unit to hang the remote, so it's not misplaced. I like the fact that it heats the air, not a specific object, so that I do not become over-heated. In addition, the unit is light-weight, but sturdy and thus not likely to get knocked over. If I need another space heater, I'll purchase a second one.

This Heaters & Accessories give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Wonderful when used properly (e.g. at night).
After reading many of the reviews on Amazon, I purchased this delonghi heater. I can't be happier with its performance. I believe the more positive reviews are a result of using this heater as it was designed - to gradually maintain a slow heat in a small-mid sized enclosed room (say, 20x20 with 9' ceilings). If you want to quickly heat a large room with a blast of hot air, get something with a fan or turn up the thermostat.

We use this heater at night. It does such an effective job of keeping our room at a comfortable 70F (even at lower settings), that we have programmed our central heat thermostat to go down to 60F at night. Of course, the effectiveness of the heater is also dependent on how well your house is insulated.

There were some comments about the heater getting hot to the touch. Well, yes, of course it does - it's a heater! But even at it's highest setting, the metal is not sizzling. It is well insulated enough that you can touch it for a few seconds...

2. No better heat than this!
I purchased two of these radiator heaters last Fall and used them all through the heating season. They are wonderful. SO much better than any blower, convection, or ceramic heaters I've had - and I've had them all. Our 152 year old house has hot water (boiler) heat so we're used to a system that doesn't blow and dry out the air but with fuel oil prices as they have been for the past few years we just can't see heating this big old house with our furnace. We have a woodstove to heat the major portion of the house but our bedroom and utility room are cold due to being away from woodstove heat and are both drafty rooms to boot. These heaters worked so well to keep those two areas perfectly comfortable without the drying effect of blower or convection heat. For years we've struggled with noisy, drying space heaters that caused much stress due to fire hazards etc. Contrary to what one review said this "Safe Heat" heater is truly safe. There are no serious fire hazard warnings on this item...

An effective, clean-smelling, silent heater
I own two Delonghi oil-filled heaters. I bought them a few years ago, used them intermittently, then put them in storage. When fuel oil bills skyrocketed, I brought them out to start using again.

What motivated me to start using them again was when bill for heating oil for my little house jumped to over $300 a month. Using two Delonghi heaters set on "low" for sixteen hours a day, it has dropped to less than $50. That's a $250 a month in savings, in the coldest months.

My experience has been that oil filled heaters work great, if you know how to use them. Oil filled electric heaters aren't just "plug and play." If you use them as recommended, they're powerful, economic and effective. If you don't, you'll have the problems people complain about in some of these reviews.

How to use 'em:

1) Always TEMPER them before use. A lot of people skip this step, but you shouldn't. To temper them, before using them in your house, plug them in...

Honeywell Baseboard Heater, HZ-519

Buy Honeywell Baseboard Heater, HZ-519

Honeywell Baseboard HeaterStay cozy through the dark days of winter with this quiet digital heater from Honeywell. The 120-volt heater offers a cost-effective alternative to a central heating system, or can bring warmth to an area of activity while the overall household system runs on low. A range of safety features and Electrical Climate Control (EEC) further endear this easy-to-use heater to users. Honeywell crafted the low profile heater with flame-resistant plastic. Users monitor temperatur...
  • Digital controls with large LCD screen & Easy to set buttons
  • Temperature set function maintains desired temperature
  • Timer function for 1-10 hours with auto shut-off
  • Tip-Over safety protection device & SafeGuard Alert Badge warns if grille is hot
  • Low profile baseboard design & Silent heating

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Many features to offer peace of mind
We needed a supplemental electric space heater for an unheated bedroom in our home that is occasionally used by guests. I selected this model over the Honeywell HZ515 because it has a screen to display the temperature instead of just a selector dial. We own one other electric heater that has a thermostat without a display, and it is much harder on that Delonghi unit for someone to set the temperature without consulting the manual. This heater is quite straightforward to operate in comparison.

If you simply push the power button, the unit will come on at full power and keep heating at full power until you turn it off again.

If you push the power button and then use the up- and down-arrow buttons, you can select a temperature (in Fahrenheit or Celsius) that the unit will attempt to maintain (up to its 1500 W capacity) until you turn it off.

If you push power, then use the arrows to select a temperature, and then push the timer button (and use the arrows...

2. unreliable
I own five of these, and heat my home with them (and five upright oil-filled types).

Pros: usually safe to touch, non-electronic glowing badge-type overheat indicator, timer, quiet, five-year warrantee, great flexible 16-gage 3-wire cord (stays cool), appears to be of highest quality, inexpensive.

Cons: Although there is a bright bulb indicating the unit is on, the LCD panel is unlit by it, so you can't check the indicator easily when it is dark. This is important, because the heaters sometimes reset themselves to maximum, so you need to look at the panel repeatedly during the night.

The timer only works for shut-off, not for timed turn-on, so you can't use it for programmed heating, such as warming up for the morning, or warming up for return in the afternoon.

Timer and temp settings are lost when powered off (no back-up battery or constant power to the panel from the plug).

Temp settings unpredictably reset to maximum, so you...

Great heater
This heater really heats up a room in a hurry. To provide some context, my kitchen is in the vicinity of 120 square feet, and it only takes 5 minutes or so to heat up after turning this heater on. As advertised, it is indeed silent. And even when first turning it on, it didn't emit that nasty new-heater smell. This heater is a great value and I'm glad I bought it.

1. 5+ years and still impressive!
Hey folks! I must say that this Lasko fan is VERY impressive. I've owned this fan for well over 5 years ... and it works just as good as day 1.

It's exceptionally quite because it uses a turbine - not blades. It moves a vast amount of air, even on low speed. It would blow away any typical $15 box fan. I'd be willing to bet that it would outperform an 18" Patten high velocity air circulator! It's also better than the similar looking Stanley, which get high marks from reviewers here.

I found that the Stanley is a smaller less powerful fan and it's not built as tough. Remember to compare the size and weight and you'll see a difference. For an extra $10, this fan is a much better buy.

Incidentally, I have 3 cats and I had suspected that cat fur might have reduced the performance of this fan ... so I decided to take it apart. This was easily done by removing approximately 8 screws. My suspicions were correct! I found what appeared to be a 1/2 inch thick...

2. Superior Performance in a Compact Design
This is truly an amazing fan. I was at a local BBQ place and they had one of these circulating air in there. It was putting out so much air that I had to go take a look to see what brand it was. So I ordered one the same day from Amazon. I'm somewhat of a hobby person around the house and on occasion I need something to remove fumes (paint, glue, whatever) from an enclosed area... quickly. This thing will do it.

The design is shared with a few other brands but this one additionally has the power outlets on the side. Those might come in handy for tools. The power cord is a large grounded version that is about 8' long. The angle (height) can be adjusted. Although I'd just like to point out here that due to the smaller than normal footprint of this fan, it can easily be sat on top of other things, making placement very flexible. It pulls air in from the side so if you are trying to pull in fresh air, it will need to be sat back a little farther than a standard fan with...

I love it
I agree 100% with the other review. I also purchased this probably 5 years ago from Sams club and have since purchased a few more. I have used these daily working as a trim carpenter to keep the air moving in the homes during those hot days and they keep on ticking. They get dirty, bang around in the back of the truck, have gotten wet, and still work like the day they were new.

They move a ton of air, and do it much quieter than a normal fan. Very highly recommended.

09/05/2013
Just wanted to update my review a bit, I have had this fan going on at least 10 years and it still works just like new. It sure doesn't look like it, but I have had no problems what so ever with it. A few times it has gotten so dirty and full of dust that I have used my small pressure washer to blast it clean, and it still works great. Probably wouldn't recommend doing that, but hey it owes me nothing at this point.

1. great heater! highly recommended!
I love this little heater! I bought this to help heat my trailer. It does such a great job that my furnace has hardly kicked on, even on the 32 degree and below nights we have already had! I really like how you can set the temperature and the heater actually seems to run and heat according to the actual room temp, not the heaters temp or the immediate areas temp. When I was out looking at heaters, a Lowe's employee told me that the thermostat is on the top of the heater so the closer to the floor you can place it the more accurate the heater's thermostat will read, so therefore the heater will run more accurately. I have mine set about 18" off the floor at one end of a 450sq. ft area. My thermostat is across the room and reads fairly close to what I have the heater set for!!!
I also bought this for the safety features. The outside stays cool and if it tips over it shuts off. I have a curious 1 year old so these features were very important to me. It also has a slim design so it...

This All Products give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Love this item!
My bedroom is always the coldest room in the house. A year ago my dad bought me this heater so I wouldn't have to freeze. I love it. It makes my room nice and toasty in a matter of 10 minutes or so, and then I can turn it off for a couple hours. It shuts itself off when it senses the room at whatever temperature I set it to also, which is nice because I can run at night without it being on the whole time. It has lasted a year so far and is still going strong! The only complaint I have is that it makes the air a bit too dry for me (made worse by allergies) so sometimes I couple it with a humidifier.

2. Good value
Have had the heater for about a month. Works fine - i use it to heat my motor home. It is quiet and the thermostat works well. Don't like the lack of an adjustable thermostat - heat settings are set at 5 degree intervals and the default temp is 75. Also, it does not remember heat settings after it is turned off. But, none of these things would prevent me from purchasing again. It is also a bit tall and i worry about the dog knocking it over. The timer is a nice feature. All in all a good purchase and i am happy with the heater.

This will warm your biscuits
Bought this new at a local retailer because they had a better price $39.99. I've had it about a week and it has been cold this week, down to 9 degrees for two days and 15 degrees to 25 degrees for 4 days. Anyhow bought it to heat our bedroom at 13 x 15 and it is smoking hot. Fan is a little noisy but not really much of a problem. All week we have had to come out from under the covers. So far I have not experienced any problems. will report back to let u know of any changes. would have ordered it from Amazon if they were not so high.

Lasko 33" Touch Control Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control

Bargain Lasko 33" Touch Control Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control

  • Lasko 33" Touch Control Ceramic Tower Heater with Remote Control
  • Electronic 8-Hour Auto-Off Timer
  • Patented Blower Technology
  • Built In Ceramic Safety
  • On-Board Remote Storage

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Energy saver
SAMS has a couple of these towers available, one being the Lasko, the other a Delonghi (which I never heard of). The reviews of the Delonghi are pretty bad, especially the electronics. In my opinion, the simpler the device the better. Howwever, this Lasko has very good reviews, and I also have their tower fans that have lasted for 5 years plus. Also, in these energy sensitive days, where you pay 11 to 12 cents per KWH, these towers consume electric heating at 1.5 KW. That means 18 cents an hour. So, to save energy in the winter, there is absolutely no need to heat the whole house throughout the night, especially if there are only two occupied bedrooms (or less). So, if you set the room thermostat at, say 55 or 60 degrees, and set the house thermostat at, say 50 (or less for you of envigorating character), you can have a comfortable existance. You can thermostatically turn on the main house unit at say, an hour before you get up to unchill the house. Anyhow, this heater will more than...

2. it pays for itself
i have gas heat and was paying $350 month for a small house in florida during the winter. i intalled a programmable timer and the heat kicks on for an hour every morning while we shower and dress. the rest of the day i use this lasko in the living area. i stay very warm and my heating bill dropped to $100. the price of this heater is $49 and i save $250 month. def worth it! btw... i love the auto shutoff feature. i set the temp at 76 or 78 and it kicks off auto when the room reaches that temp.

Awesome!
I bought two of these at Sams for $49.00 each and absolutely love them. They are quite and fit in a very small area. After they get to the desired temp they shut themself off and then cycle back on. I think they dress up any room. Starting heating the room up right away!! I am ready for a cold night now!

Lasko 4000 Air Stik Ultra-Slim Oscillating Fan

Deals for Lasko 4000 Air Stik Ultra-Slim Oscillating Fan

Lasko's #4000 is an ultra-slim oscillating fan for places where space is at a premium.
  • 2 quiet speed settings
  • LED-illuminated electronic controls; oscillating function
  • Takes up very little surface space--great for on a desk; 14" tall.
  • Patented fused safety plug, ETL listed for safety
  • Fully assembled

This Tower Fans give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Perfect Office Desk Fan
For 2 years I have worked in an office where war has been fought over the ambient temperature. Some like it cool and some like it very hot. I am a "like it cool" dude.

Now that spring is here, the war is back on this soldier is sick of fighting. I decided to buy a fan, but (darn) which one? It seems there are millions out there. After reading reviews, I decided to purchase this fan.

It arrived and I was initially put-off by its small size. Don't let the small size fool you. This fan, on the slow speed, moves ample air and is whisper quiet. It does the job and does it well. Now I am not as warm and am uber content not being caught up in the temperature battles.

I do not recommend this Lasko if you sleep with a fan at night. It has 2 speeds and is too quiet at the lowest speed to provide the "white noise" that us urban dwellers around the world have come to rely on.

Overall, 2 thumbs up, way up, on this fan as an office...

2. Great looks, size, speed but high-pitched whir/whine
POSITIVES
Love the color, relatively compact size, and fan speeds. Low is great for desktop or personal fan as long as it's not blowing right on papers. Oscillation makes a good sweep too.

CONS
Too tall if you need this to fit under an overhead bin in an office cubicle. The machine also has a moderately-high pitched whir/whine that is louder than the sound of the air blowing. I returned the first one and the second one was quieter the first time I plugged it in, then just as noisy as the first one. I could hear the whir/whine from another room even on low speed. If your office is not super-quiet or you are not using this as white noise it's still a great choice. Otherwise I'd keep looking.

Quietest fan ever!
I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase. After trying to find a fan for my office that was quiet, yet still effective, I finally found the perfect match. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a fan to cool down a small space, such as an office or small bedroom.

  • 7.3" x 9.2" x 34" tall

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Awesome Product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Lasko heaters, my hubby had a 29" pedestal heater that lasted roughly 5 years before acting up, so once it decided to die on us I searched and found this one on Amazon.

We had looked in the store and actually bought a Delonghi because he didn't want to have to wait until we could get this one in the mail, but it sucked! It didn't show the current room temperature like the Lasko, only the set temperature so you couldn't tell what the actual room temperature was. It kept turning on and off as if it was trying to maintain that exact temperature instead of turning on 1 degree below the set temperature, then back off at 2 degrees above like this Lasko. And the plastic at the base was grinding and popping when I tried to use it in oscillation mode, which was really annoying.

So it went back and I ordered this one, and am I ever glad we did, I love it! It arrived slightly damaged, but that could have been a manufacturing error as the box was in perfect...

2. Good, but not for light sleepers -- beeps when you change settings
I actaully have the model 5586 which looks exactly like this but the buttons are different. Bought for about the same price $65-67 at a harddware store.

It's great for a small (10ftx10ft) unheated room, but doesn't do much for a large converted attic room with no heating & almost no insulation (which is fine, the product clearly says it is intendend as SUPPLEMENTAL heat, not as your only source).

I like the remote control & that I can have it stationary blowing directly on me or moving to circulate the air. I also like that I can set it to click on when tempature drops below a certain temperature. I like that it shows me the temperature. Those features were (to me) worth spending a little more than the cheaper heaters. I've had it for 3 months and it has made a big difference for cold No. CA nights/early mornings (though our electric bill did go pretty high so I'm not sure we saved $ by running the gas/central heating less).

I find it quiet enough...

Think twice if you are a light sleeper and using for bedroom
The fan is not loud, but I wouldn't say it is quiet either. The annoying thing is that there is no option to leave the fan on continuously, so it cycles on and off with the heater. The problem with this is that you don't have a constant white noise to aid sleeping, but something that could make sleeping not so restful--or worse yet--wake you up. Also using the remote to change any settings creates a loud beep that your sleeping partner might not be so happy about.

I did notice that a smallish room heated up very fast. I'm guessing the large size helps with that.

The remote is sorta cheap, but does the job--with a lot of beeps.

I would say it is a good value at the price I paid: $49.

1. Good Heater
I live in a mobile home, and this is a really good heater. I will definitely cut back on fuel costs! It is really quite, and has a bunch of different settings that are great.

2. Works Good
Had this product running during the night, with the automatic temperature control on. Very quiet and heats the room well. The oscillation is nice and smooth. Works Pretty good, as of now.

I noticed the 1-star review about the blown fuse and hot wire. Maybe they should check the wiring in their house, because my fuse hasn't blown and like I mentioned, I had it running all night on high at 71 degrees.

1. works well, but a little noisy
Its nice because it does the job of a larger heater without the footprint, it can sit in a corner, by a desk, or even in the middle of a room and not dominate the space. The remote is a nice touch, the heater itself is very high quality, I have had this for almost a year now and works just fine.

  • Easy to adjust 1 Touch controls
  • Whisper quiet operation
  • 2 heat settings
  • Built in Safety Features: Overheat, Manual user reset, Cool touch exterior, Auto shut-off

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Perfect heater for Small to Medium rooms.
This is a perfect heater for guest rooms, bedrooms, and office type spaces. It has preset temperature settings starting from 60 up to 80 degrees fahrenheit in increments of 5, and automatically turns off and on when the setting has been reached or falls below respectively. Granted, the immediate temperature around the heater may not coincide with the room as a whole, but the differences are small. The heater also has two manual settings (High heat - 1500 watts / Low heat - 1000 watts) that will provide continuous nonstop heat until the user chooses change the setting. These two settings will heat a room to a cozy 85 degrees.

One of the key advantages of this heater over other fan-forced heaters is it's quiet factor. I am able to sleep and study with this heater on 24/7 (I keep it on High most of the time). It does generate minor sound due to the heated air being forced by the fan, but it is soothing, and in fact serves as a nice replacement for external sounds coming from...

2. Great heater for the price!
Living in MN our below gound family room can get pretty chilly. We are very pleased at how well this heater warms the room and how quiet it is. When the heater is on our family room becomes the warmest room in the house, allowing us to keep the centeral heat turned down lower than we did before we bought the space heater. Worth the money.

Thermostat mode is a JOKE and an AFTERTHOUGHT!
There are much better working heaters out there for the money. I've had the Holmes 'One-Touch' for over a year now, and although it does provide OK heat in manual (constant on) mode, it does not work well at all in thermostat mode. The unit turns on for only perhaps a minute or two, then shuts off for a much longer period of time. It does not seem to have a temperature sensor to control the unit's thermostat, and thus keep an area heated properly. The unit would have been better off if it had a timer, where you could set it to let's say turn on for 5 minutes, then off for 10, or whatever else time intervals you would need to properly keep your area heated. This is a major shortcoming, since you don't want to keep your space heater on constantly for long periods of time (fire hazard), and you must rely on a thermostat or timer mode to keep the unit on in intervals.

Lowered My Electric Bill!
I researched for a long time before purchasing this Lasko heater last winter. I bought one and ran a test for a month to see if A)the heater would heat up a rather large living room, and B)whether my electric bill would go down. So, with my heat pump thermostat set on 65, we used this unit in our living area all last winter. Our electric bill was drastically lower! In fact, I liked the heater so much that I bought my daughter one, just to help her save money too.

Best points on the heater are the remote control, the oscillation, and the pedestal which better evenly distributes the heat. We bought 2 more smaller Lasko heaters from Amazon to basically heat up every room where we need heat this winter...and I guarantee that our electric bill will still be lower than merely using the heat pump alone. I had no idea that the heat pump ate up so much power.

Great heater!

  • Low/high quiet-comfort settings, plus auto thermostat-controlled setting
  • Self-regulating ceramic element and overheat protection for safety
  • Measures 8-1/4 by 8-1/4 by 16 inches; 3-year warranty

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. What a relief.
I started out with a little Holmes heater that was $5 cheaper that i got from wal-mart, but the thing was horrible, took forever to heat up a little room even.

I was skeptical of something that looked decent, and assumed it wouldn't perform all that great... but boy was i surprised.

Heats up real quick, nice auto temp set of 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, and 'Max'.. along with manual settings, and oscillating that creates no more noise than the heater does, which is minimal for a space heater. Also has 4, 2, and 1 hr timers on it.

Only downsides, it beeps loud like a microwave with every button you touch, which gets annoying, and it would be nice if they made space heaters with 24 hour timers on them, to plan heating for when i wake up, but none of the kind exist.

Great buy, i think it was 40ish from wal-mart, very happy with it.

2. Great heater and attractive design
Very happy with this purchase. I previously owned the Lasko 755320 Tower Heater with Remote. That one lasted about 5 years and when it was time to replace it, I purchased this one, Lakso 6410.
The reasons I got this one instead is that for me personally, I found the remote unnecessary and never used it.
This one heats just as well as the Lasko Tower with Remote, takes up less space, more attractive design and cost less.
Many people have ask questions regarding increase in electric bill. I have found that if you do not use the oscillating function you will not see much of an increase in your electric bill.
But with using the oscillating function you will see a bigger increase in electric bill. Not sure why it cost so much more to oscillate but that has been my experience.
Basically when running this heater my gas bill has decreased by 70.00 and electric has increased 20.00.
So overall it saves me about 50.00/month. But it not only saves me money every...

Excellent investment!
After receiving a gas bills of around $250 for two months in a row (and I live in Houston, TX, not in some ultra-cold climate), I decided I needed to do something about the drafts in my house besides just turning up the heat. I researched a number of small electric heaters and finally decided on this one. I have now been using it for about 3 weeks, and even though I haven't received my new gas bill, I am quite sure it will be substantially lower because I've been able to keep the house thermostat low while just using this heater to warm the room I'm in.

Here is what I LOVE about this heater:

* Design - it is nice to have something that it attractive sitting in your living room, rather than a plain white or silver tower. Plus, it's fairly small and lightweight, and so it's easy to take from room to room.
* Thermostat - this is my absolute favorite part of it. I just set it to the temp I want my room kept, and it will turn itself on and off as needed. I use...

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great heater, lousy thermostat
I've had this heater as the only heat source in my 10X15 ft. office through two Florida winters. It puts out plenty of heat on "low," and is so quiet that I don't know whether it's on or off without looking. The only problem, sadly a big one, is that the thermostat only sets in 5 degree increments and allows too much heat variation before it turns on, so I'm always a little too hot or too cold. I'm thinking of replacing it with one of the competing Lasko ceramic heaters. A friend has one, and it seems to be just as quiet and efficient as the Holmes, but does a better job of maintaining a stable temperature. I have waited and waited for Holmes to come out with a ceramic heater just like this one but with a better thermostat, but I guess this isn't going to happen. Oh, well.

2. great little heater that keeps me warm on a budget
Holmes makes an excellent compact and portable ceramic space heater that really gives off a lot of heat than my older one does! Moreover, the unit is very lightweight and easy to carry although of course I wouldn't carry it while it's working or just after it's been shut off.

The heater is reasonably priced as of the time I am writing this and I sure hope that Holmes continues to make these; I would like to get one for my father. The unit is completely quiet--in fact it's so quiet that you'll never know that it's there unless you see it. It rapidly provides a good amount of heat to areas like bedrooms and offices.

This heater by Holmes is best used for spaces that are roughly 100 square feet or slightly more; I wouldn't depend on it to heat several rooms or a combination living room/dining room all at once. For that you'll either need more than one of these space heaters or you'll have to use this unit along with your central heat or oil heat, whatever you...

love it
I just ordered two more of these units. We've been using them for the last five years or so and love them! We need more because we keep giving them away to our kids, who ask for them specifically. They run quieter and put out more heat (double ceramic heater) than any other fan driven area heater we've ever used. We also love the thermostat features and tip-over shut off. I don't think Holmes is making this model any more and it's a shame. I thought I better get a few more while I can.

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Hot, Hot, Hot!
I purchased this heater to warm my office at school...the nuns won't turn on the radiators until you can see your breath...inside the building! I have 13 foot ceilings in this office and it keeps it toasty. I've been very pleased with it's performance, especially since I paid only $9.95 for it! The fan feature comes in handy, as there is, of course, no air conditioning at school either! Great value, great product.

2. Holmes #HFH105 1500Watt Portable Heater
The product works as well as I expected it to, but it is a little louder than I had expected.

Not as good as the HFH104
These portable electric heaters are small in size but have given off ample heat when needed in a pinch in those early morning hours when trying to get kids out the door for school.

Since I was already familiar with the model HFH 104, that I sold over the summer on eBay, I figured the model HFH 105 would be similar. They both have the two heat settings of 1000 and 1500 watts and the power light plus a fan only setting. Also included in both models are the auto safety shut-off and the cord wrap.

The carry handle and cord wrap are easier to utilize in this model of the Holmes Portable Electric Heater, HFH 105. It is advised not to use an extension cord unless you absolutely have to, and with limited electrical outlets in the duplex we reside in I have to use extension cords through out the house. I have only utilized these heaters in the living room and for limited time in the morning and evening hours.

This is a compact design, but it resembles a flimsy...

Lasko 5367 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater

Buy Lasko 5367 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater

Lasko 5367 oscillating ceramic tower heater propels 1500 watts of comforting warmth into the room. Versatile size for table or floor use. Built-in safety features include self-regulating ceramic element with automatic overheat protection.
  • Adjustable comfort control thermostat
  • Adjustable thermostat with 3 quiet settings and push-button oscillation mode
  • ETL listed
  • Fully Assembled.
  • Measures 7.25" x 6.13" x 16.5" tall

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Quiet, extremely warm, but power-hungry
I wanted to review this product for those who were mainly concerned about the amount of power this amazing electric heater draws. Another reviewer stated use of this product blew fuses in his abode repetitively; I too can confirm that behaviour... and you'll soon understand why.

The unit itself is sturdy and quiet. Oscillation is smooth, and the fan (whether being used to blow heated or non-heated air) emits a "whooshing" noise rather than a whine. The fan makes an acceptable level of background noise (I was able to sleep without any problems, and found it relaxing). The unit has 3 modes of operation, controlled by a dial: fan only (no heater), fan and heater (level 1), and fan and heater (level 2). Oscillation is controlled via a separate button, as is temperature controlled via a separate dial. The amount of heat this unit can put out -- despite being adjustable -- is excellent. The power cord has a 2-prong connector.

But as previously mentioned, the...

2. Excellent heater
I really like this heater. Got one for Christmas, to replace my office space heater which had just burnt out;however, my office doesn't open until after New Years Day, so we used it at the house, as the weather turned cold. It worked WONDERFULLY, better than I expected! And the oscillating feature is a MUST - what I used to hate about my old heater was that it always projected heat in the same, small area and I was forever moving it around to avoid getting one spot too hot - this heater doesn't have that problem. It works great!

Good Little Heater
Rec'd product promptly and in good condition. It's the perfect size for my bedroom, with a slim profile and hi-tech look. Tested the heater on a cold night and it warmed up my room in no time. The fan was quiet and the oscillating tower was good at spreading the heat around. Overall, a good little heater for the price!

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Wonderful Heater. Read the instructions.
This heater works perfectly. Some of the other reviews on here mention specific negatives, and I suggest that those people read the fine manual. For example:

Comment: "The Thermometer is inaccurate by a few degrees in most."
Correct. If you read the instruction manual, it states that the heater will heat two degrees above the thermostat setting, then switching off. It will switch on again when the temperature falls one degree below the thermostat setting. This is actually how most thermostats work.

Comment: "The power cable is thinner than what other leading safe room heaters have."
I am not sure what this means. A power cable's gauge (thickness) will be proportional to the current (amperage) by which it is engineered to draw. The thickness of the copper wiring does not correspond to safety, and would only become a safety issue if the thickness of the wire were not rated for the current of which the appliance draws. I would hope to assume that the...

2. Exactly what I needed
Worked great all winter! Was used a supplementary heater in daughters room over finished garage. This could have heated the room all by itself. Looking forward to long durability thanks to the ceramic elements. If you like the look, features, and price.. buy it!

I bought two. Last year's worked great. This year's model had fan problems.
Scroll down to read:

1) My ORIGINAL REVIEW of this product (at that time I gave it four stars)
2) My LATER REVIEW (dropping to three stars)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ORIGINAL REVIEW:

The main things I LIKE about this little heater are:
* It has quiet operation, and heats up a room very fast.
* I also like the design, it's simple and easy on the eyes, and like how lightweight it is. Even a two year old could lug this around without getting tired out.
* It has an easy-carry handle built in.
* It heats quickly and the oscillating feature distributes the heat nicely. It does an efficient job of turning electrical energy into heat.

The main thing I DISLIKE about it, which I'd imagine would be a major concern in a house with pets or small children, is that it doesn't turn off when knocked over. This could be extremely hazardous. It's not an issue for me...

  • Lightweight with Carry Handles for Portability

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. very good but still not for everyone
This portable space heater by Lasko helps to cut my electric bill. At first I wasn't sure if should get this or a space heater that works with oil inside of it; but I'm glad I got this one instead. It couldn't be easier to set up--just take it out of the box and plug it in! Although you should read the four pages of instructions in order to be familiar with general precautions and to know how to use the timer feature and a couple other extra features, it amazed me just how intuitive it is to get this thing up and running.

In addition, it's easy to lift--it's very lightweight, especially after you remove it from the box; and there's a neat timer function so that you can "program" this to turn off at a set time up to 8 hours in advance. Great! The machine also turns on or off automatically depending on how close it is to making your room the exact temperature you specify by pressing the plus and minus buttons to set temperature.

After you turn it on, be aware that...

2. nice heater
Very good heater, does what I needed it for.It does get hot to the touch on top,but I can live with that.

I love this heater.
After trying a stand up convection heater which took 7-9 hours to heat up our living, dining and kitchen rooms (about 400 sq feet of a 900 sq. ft apt.), we decided to try another type of heater. This heater is the best for this purpose. We do close off the bedrooms and bathrooms but this heater only takes two to three hours to heat up our living room, dining room and kitchen areas. We live in san diego and it is usually about 62 degrees in the mornings here. We warm the apt to about 71-72 degrees. I think that it would warm faster if we had decent insulation in the building and better insulated windows (Including a sliding glass door) but it is an apt so we cant change that. The apt was built in the 60's and management won't go for upgrading anything. What I am saying is if you have a better insulated house or apt you prob don't need to section off rooms by closing doors and it will prob even heat up faster. I would def. recommend this heater for heating a apt. I love it. It does have...

Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex Heater

Cheapest Vornado VH110 Whole Room Vortex Heater

The Vornado VH110 whole room heater is an effective way to reduce energy costs. This whole room heater has a thermostatic temperature control knob. Select your desired heat setting with a simple turn of the dial. Vornado’s signature Vortex heat circulation then distributes the warm air throughout the room. Unlike typical heaters whose hot coils create areas of extreme heat directly around the heater, the VH110 outputs a steady current of 102 degree heat that envelopes the room in comfortable w...
  • Vortex Heater not only generates heat but circulates it throughout the entire room
  • 3 heat settings 1,500/1,125/750 watts
  • Thermostatic temperature control
  • Quiet operation
  • Energy efficient

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Small Heater with big results
Bought this heater from costco about 1 week ago to heat our 18' x 20' living room, Not only doe's it do that very well, it heats the kitchen, hallway, and closest bedroom to the living room. we are going to purchase another for the rest of the house. Our house heater went out and cant afford a new one, don't need to fix it now. I would definately recommend this heater. we had bought one of those fake fireplace heaters they look great but took it back it didn't work anywhere close to the vorando heater for a fourth of the cost.

2. Little Heater with Big Results
I recently purchased this for an office that is about 20' x 10'. When I first turned it on within 5 minutes the whole office area was heated. I had to turn down the heat to a lower heating setting (it has 3 settings) so the office area wasn't overly heated. The safety feature of automatically shutting off if it is moved or tilted is a really great feature. It would be nice if it had a remote control or a thermostat control to set a specific temperature but that shouldn't stop you in purchasing this little heating marvel. You don't need to point this heater directly at you for warmth. It takes the heated air and evenly circulates it throughout the room. I own a Vornado air circulator at home and use it during the hot summer months. It works great....that is why I purchased this product. It is basically the same Vornado air circulator only with a heater inside of it. It gets a 4 1/2 star rating from me...but Amazon ratings don't do 1/2 points.

These are the best electric heaters I owned, hands down.
This is my second Vornado VH110 purchase in 6 months. I have bought electric heaters before from different manufacturers and none of them withstood the normal wear and tear as well as the test of time like these Vornado heaters. Most of the ones I got at the big superstores caught dust in the grill after about 6 months of use and ended up just giving up and dying or even starting to burn the dust and grime inside stinking up the room and causing them to sound like a small airliner is about to land. Needless to say I had to bite the bullet and buy another one, and then another one and so on. A friend turned me onto Vornado heaters. I have to say I have never seen a small size heater heat up my high ceiling room so well, yet it only feels warm to the touch. This thing is quiet and seems to be very efficient - it doesn't seem to burn the element inside as hot as the other heaters, and yet circulates the air a lot better then the 2700 watt higher powered heaters sold at Walmart. I am...

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great value
Lasko Ceramic Heater model 5126
Quiet, rotates, auto on and off thermostat, advertises to operate with in 2 degrees above or 1 below set temp. After 3 days of operation it is performing perfectly. Simple assembly of base with 2 self threading screws and 4 machine screw. Could not be simpler or more stable. Instructions and parts matched and easy to understand. Suggest you do not unwind cord until after base is on. Not my first Lasko product and won't be my last; I am happy.

2. Efficient Heater
This is a great heater with all the convenient features I wanted. Easy to assemble, works fine and everything about it is just a warm breeze. Had to order a second one and overall, I have four Lasko heaters in my house and they all work great. No complaints.

Probably better for a small room
This heater moves a decent amount of warm air, fairly quiet and efficient, but struggles to take off a serious chill in our large bedroom. Works great in the smaller office room though. This is the second Lasko tower-type we've owned, the last one died after 5 years. Not a bad looking product, pretty good quality. I would probably buy it again for a good, basic heater.

  • 1500-Watt of comforting warmth with high, low and fan only settings
  • ETL listed
  • Etl listed for safety

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Problem with heater
I like this heater. The only problem I have with it is the cord isn't heavy enough. The cord gets very hot and has melted 2 plugs. I think it should be recalled as a fire hazard.

2. Great little heater!
Pros:
-Very quiet. Most noise you will hear is a low hum.
-3 different modes. Low, High, and Fan. Nice to have the fan choice on warmer days.
-Heats very quickly. Heats a moderate sized room in about 20 minutes, and the automatic thermostat is a very nice addition for at night when sleeping.

Cons:
-Only thing I can think of is that I wish the fan was a little more powerful. I wouldn't recommend to use the fan feature as a fan replacement entirely.

Overall, it does it's job perfectly. Great for if you have a room in your house with a bad draft. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable space heater.

Lasko #5775 Ceramic Tower Heater

Cheap Lasko #5775 Ceramic Tower Heater

Lasko's #5775 tower heater offers stylish comfort with wide-spread oscillation and built-in safety features.
  • 1500 watts maximum output with low, high and thermostat controlled settings
  • safe ceramic element with overheat protection and cool-touch housing
  • Electronic thermostat and auto-off timer
  • fully assembled, 22.75" tall.
  • ETL Listed for safety

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Nice Heater
This is a good heater. We have purchased it for our bathroom and it does a good job in heating it quickly. We know it states it is not intended for a bathroom, but those that are rated for a bathroom just have a GFI on the end of the power cord. We already have a GFI outlet that I use offering the same protection.

The timer is a nice feature and easy to set from 1 hour to 7 hours or anywhere in-between in increments of one hour. The oscillation works as expected. The power level is either 900 watts or 1500 watts. All of those options are easy to set.

The thermostat is an area we would like to see improved so that it works at the 900 watt setting. Our bathroom is small and really does not need that much heat. The thermostat only works on the high heat, 1500 watt setting. The manual states this if for "increased efficiency" which I do not understand. 900 watts is 900 watts and 1500 is 1500 watts. Have a thermostat turn it on or off does not make it any...

2. Great Heater!!!
We just received our Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater Model #5775 yesterday and could immediately see that this unit really does a great job of heating up our family room. We were using an EdenPURE which was a large applicance, over-priced and not energy efficient. It never really heated the room well. We won't know about the energy cost until we get our next electric bill but as far as the heating it works great!!! It is very quite operating, looks nice and doesn't take up much room. So far we love this heater!!! I had read consumer reviews on this heater which were excellent. Also the price is great. We paid over $300 for the EdenPURE and it was not worth it. It was a rip-off.

works well, smell like hell

Lasko 5369 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater with Electronic Controls

Cheap Lasko 5369 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater with Electronic Controls

Lasko's #5369 Oscillating Ceramic Tower Heater with Electronic Control. Easy to use electronic thermostat. Widespread oscillation. Two quiet comfort settings; high- 1500 watt, low- 900 watt. Versatile size for table or floor use. Gentle Comfort Technology fan propels warmth into the room. Easy-carry handle.
  • Energy-efficient tower heater with a self-regulating ceramic element
  • Top-access electronic control panel; low and high heat settings; ETL-listed
  • Adjustable comfort-control thermostat; optional widespread oscillation
  • Overheat protection with automatic shut-off for safety; carrying handle
  • Measures 7.25" X 6.13" X 16.5"

This Space Heaters give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Safety Concern
I took this out of the box and was pleased with how it heated the room to the temperature setting that I picked. It has selectable temperature settings from 60-85deg F in 5deg increments. Also a max heat function. The low econo setting only works on the 60 & 65deg F presets.

The problem is that you can tip the heater over and it still runs! I have tried knocking it over in several directions and it doesn't turn off. This is a big safety/fire hazard since I have a small child and cat that can tip it over. I would say this is a good heater, but I am sending it back because I am afraid it will cause a fire if it were to fall over. I wish it didn't have this issue.

2. love it!
This is my second Lasko Ceramic Tower Heater. We use this heater in our small computer room and it heats up quickly and keeps the room toasty warm. If we close the door, the small room heats up to 78 degrees. If you're looking to quicky heat up a small room (12x12), you won't be disappointed.

Best heaters out there
I always buy Lasko brand heaters. I love the digital controllers and they are accurate (unlike many other heaters I have tried). Some heaters put their sensor too close to the heating area so that it reads abnormally high after running for a few minutes, thus turning off the heater. The Lasko heaters do it right. The temperature you set it at is the temperature the room will be. Also, they are quiet.

In addition, these heaters last. I have owned my original heater for five years, when I bought it on a whim. It has lasted and lasted!

I also like the remote control features (this one does not come with that option, but many do).

Dr Infrared Heater Quartz + PTC Infrared Portable Space Heater - 1500 Watt, UL Listed , Produces 60% More Heat with Advanced Dual Heating System.

Cheap Dr Infrared Heater Quartz + PTC Infrared Portable Space Heater - 1500 Watt, UL Listed , Produces 60% More Heat with Advanced Dual Heating System.

Dr Heater Original Model Dual Heating System DR968 - Dr Heater DR968.
  • Newly Engineered and Designed in USA with Advanced Dual Heating System. 1500W with High and Low Temperature Settings range 65 to 86 degrees.
  • The Dr. HeaterTM advanced dual heating systems increase the heat transfer rate, and evenly heats your space up to 1,000 square feet, fast. The newly engineered heater produces 60% more heat than the other models in the market. Great supplemental heating source.
  • Listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) USA &Canada that ensures highest safety standards. Perfectly safe around the children and pets with no exposed heating elements. Overheat Cut Off and Tip Over Protection System
  • Manufactured by the same factory that supplies heaters to Sears and Home Depot

This Heaters & Accessories give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great supplemental heater
We bought this heater to use in our living room and kitchen/dining area. We have all baseboard heat and our heating bills are usually through the roof. This heater does a good job and we are very happy, but there are a few things to point out.

1. It is a smaller heater than you might expect. It is half the price of an eden pure...but be advised that it's about half the size of the eden pure my parents have. That said, I think I'd rather have two of these than one eden pure that way I can space them out more.

2. This thing won't heat a 1000 sq/ft area. We use it in a 250-300 sq/ft living room that has an opening to our kitchen dining room that is about 250 sq/ft. It will heat up the room and maintain when it is as cold as the 20's outside...colder than that and we need to use our baseboard w/ this heater to get it up to temp (in about 10 minutes mind you)...and then this heater will do a great job of maintaining that heat on it's own. We did this down to...

2. Warning! Before You Buy This Heater...
...you need to invest a little time in thinking about 1) what it is you want it to do and, 2) coming to grips with what it is actually capable of.

A lot of people buy this heater (24%) after looking at the EdenPure portable electric space heater. I am guessing that those who do are looking to save about fifty bucks over the cost of the EdenPure and believe (correctly) that it is a virtual replica of the EdenPure. And that would be just wonderful if the EdenPure portable electric space heater (and this one) lived up to the hype that surrounds it. The problem is neither one does...they are both being promoted with false premises.

In fact, some claims are pure lies. Take this one: "Testing shows, the Dr. HeaterTM has 60% more heat output compared to most other heaters on the market." Ask yourself, what testing and compared to what heaters? You should be highly suspicious anytime a claim such as this is made without reference to the actual testing. Who did...

DR Heater ( AWESOME )
I received the DR Heater, and so far it is AWESOME. I had another brand of heater, and it's in the basement already. Quiet isn't quite the word for this heater. I have a propane gas insert for our fireplace. I thought it had a quiet fan, until I turned the DR Heater on. The fan in the gas insert drowns out the DR Heater fan. I had to put my ear down to it to tell if it was running or not. The heat output is exactly what they clame it to be. It has twice the features as the $400.00 unit. My house is well insulated, so I am not sure how it will work for everyone else. I can tell you that I highly recommend this Heater. It's should be a money saver. This is an update. Whats nice about this heater is the two types of heat output. This heater has only one bulb in it, so when the bulb goes bad, you still have heat output. I had the bulb go out, and the company sent me a replacement bulb. I received great support from DR Heater. Will buy another one.
